Designing Change: An Evening with Roman Mars

The Museum of Craft and Design’s (MCD) special event Designing Change: An Evening with Roman Mars explored the invisible world of design with Roman Mars.

With over 360 million downloads, 99% Invisible is one of the most popular design podcasts in the world. MCD welcomed host and creator Roman Mars to Minnesota Street Project for a live multimedia presentation examining unnoticed design that shapes our world.

JoAnn Edwards, MCD Executive Director notes, “We have been inspired by Roman Mars’ insightful and fascinating storytelling, shedding light on the ‘invisible’ world of design. It was a perfect fit to invite Mars to speak about the unsung creators whose designs have revolutionized modern life.” MCD’s Designing Change series focuses on the ability of creative individuals to inspire meaningful change for themselves and their communities.

Designing Change: An Evening with Roman Mars is generously supported by Brookfield Properties Pier 70, Minnesota Street Project, and IDEO U.

Roman Mars is the host and creator of 99% Invisible, a short radio show about design and architecture. With over 360 million downloads, 99% Invisible is one of the most popular podcasts in the world. His crowdfunding campaigns have raised over $1.16 million, making him the highest-funded journalist in Kickstarter history.
